Google Search Console Reports Finally Up To Date

After Google pausing several of their reports within the Google Search Console due to the  indexing bugs , Google now has updated them as of this morning. Previously it was stuck at data from April 7th or so, now you can see data as recent as a couple days ago, April 27th. Here is a screenshot: Now the coverage report, mobile-friendly report, AMP reports, other enhancement reports are all pretty much up to date - with the normal two or so delay in Google Search Console. Google has not confirmed any of this yet, so I am not sure about if the URL Inspection tool bug was fixed yet but at least this is a good sign.

What tools/software do you use for your monthly/weekly SEO reports?

My largest report was about 100 pages (it took me 2 months to write all of it). It was a complete how-to playbook about writing product pages for a very specific technical business from targeting the right audience, the right language, positioning, UX, guidelines and process for everything. It's like compressing years of knowledge working with that client into a process for the in-house team. If I need to write this again for a different business, I'll need to rewrite 80% of it. And yes, it was not an SEO report. I have written small reports bundled with large attached excel files (URLs that need specific fixes). But to me, the excel file is not a report. I don't do rank reporting. It is not in my business model. I work with businesses that already have marketers and reporting setup. It could be a small startup or a bigger company. I am hired usually to identify and solve problems, optimize the customer journey, positioning, CRO. The right client has a p...

How to Survive Mass Email Mistakes & Typos

There’s no worse marketer moment then when you click “send” on a mass email only to realize there’s a massive typo or mistake. We’ve all been there, but knowing that everyone can relate doesn’t make it any less mortifying. My heart sinks every time I get an email like this in my inbox... Because I know just how horrified the sender must be. I’ve been there. We all have. So what can we do about it? The Silver Lining We always hear that mistakes are crucial to success, but what if the lessons to be learned from mass email mess-ups aren’t to double check your subject line or recipient list, but rather than mess ups may bring us closer together? After all, in our ever-calculated world, surprisingly, mess ups can sometimes get better results than the most perfectly proofread email. Why? People crave authenticity. We’re all human, and accidentally not BCCing a mass email reminds us of that. It allows us to be jolted out of our automatized communication and have ...

The Top 14 Skills In The Red Hot Market For Marketing Jobs

Has the market for marketers heated up?  Short answer: Yes. Slightly longer answer: Yes, absolutely! For a more complete answer, read on... We all know that the marketing industry is changing quickly -- so quickly that most organizations are having a hard time keeping up. So it's no surprise that companies everywhere are looking to hire marketers, especially those with modern skills. Last year, I got up on stage at the INBOUND conference in front of 10,000 people and made a bold statement. "Marketing salaries for great marketers will double over the next 5 years." Unsurprisingly, both our CMO and our CFO asked me about that prediction.  So, why would I make such a bold prediction?  Because I've seen first hand what an acute asymmetry in the supply and demand of talent can do to salaries.  Case in point:  Engineering salaries.  I  don't have to convince you that the opportunity for software developers over the past decade has skyroc...
